FAQ

What are the share options and costs?

You can find share details and costs on our 2017 CSA Information page

How do I secure my share?

Click and pay for your share Here. You will receive an email confirmation and a short questionnaire of contact information. You will also receive the 2017 CSA Member Manual.

What is a partial share and how are the 7 items determined?

With the partial share you receive 7 items every week. This share is geared towards individuals or small families who want to compliment their meals with veggie sides and flavorful herbs. The 7 items in the share are determined by us, and will always be what we have most prevalent on the farm. We will focus on the giving the staple items everyone enjoys in the partial shares, such as lettuce and potatoes, and only one or two more diverse items each week.

What happens if I can’t pick up my share?

You can always have a friend or neighbor pick up your share in your place. Unfortunately, we cannot double up on shares that have been missed.

All shares not picked up will be donated to a local food bank or family in need.

What do I get in a share?

Serenbe Farms Harvest Calendar---this is a calendar of when to expect certain veggies in your share. This along with the list of items to be received each season as a list of example shares is our best effort to show you what to expect each week in your share.

The contents of the share vary widely. Our shares are based on the seasons and what grows well in our soil and climate. Shares do not change drastically from week to week, but besides the occasional summer shares, each and every share will be different. This is great for home cooks who want to try something new and for those with health, wellness and sustainability in mind, as food eaten callously, seasonally and fresh is better for us!

For the spring shares, you can expect to see these vegetables: beets, bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, , green garlic, fennel, kale, arugula, mustards, radishes, collards, kohlrabi, lettuce, sweet onions, green onions, sugar snap peas, potatoes, spinach, chard, turnips, herbs: chives, thyme, oregano, cilantro, dill (and more)

For the summer shares, you can expect to see these vegetables: beans, edamame, carrots, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, greens, leeks, collards, arugula, lettuce, melons, okra, onions,  peppers (sweet + hot), potatoes, radishes, summer squash and zucchini, , tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, fruit: melons, herbs: basil, parsley, thyme, oregano, (and more)

For the fall shares, you can expect to see these vegetables: beans, beets, bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, eggplant, garlic, fennel, kale, sunchokes, collards, arugula, mustards, kohlrabi, lettuce, okra, green onions, peppers (hot+sweet), winter squash (butternut, acorn), radishes, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, chard, turnips, herbs: cilantro, basil, dill, parsley, chives, thyme, (and more)

Where do I pick up my CSA?

CSA pick up is every Saturday at the farm:

Serenbe Farms - 8715 Atlanta Newnan Road, Chatthoochee Hills, GA 30268,

9:00am-1:00 pm

Can I share a share?

Yes! Please share with anyone you’d like. We allow you to send other folks in your place, so the sharing possibilities are unlimited.

How do I access the recipes on the blog?

Our blog is found here. When you get to the blog if you’d like to find all of the recipes that contain a specific vegetable or ingredient, use the scroll tab at the top of the menu bar on the righthand side of the page.

How many people will the share feed?

A partial share usually fulfills the needs of a single or couple, while we recommend a full share for family with kids, or adult vegetarians/vegans.  Please do reference “What I get in a share?”.

How does the pick up procedure work?

On the farm we offer a ‘market-style’ pick up. We set up produce as if we were at a farmers market and place signage to designate what you take each week. We will have a farmer (or 2) on hand for questions and help with the process.

Is your CSA program for me?

A CSA subscription will require that you prepare different seasonal vegetables all season long. Those that enjoy the CSA share most are likely to get creative in the kitchen and adapt to what’s available. With our 2 share sizes, there is an option that fits most peoples vegetable needs. We put a large emphasis on community involvement and education on the farm and welcome and encourage visits from our CSA members. Purchasing a CSA share from us guarantees you fresh, local, and certified organic vegetables every week. These vegetables are harvested or picked by hand the day of delivery or the day before. Knowing who is growing your food, where it is grown and trusting how it is grown is an excellent reason to be member of our CSA program.

Can I visit the farm?

Yes, as a CSA member, you have full access to the farm during our working hours. Please do notify us that you’ll be visiting so we can verify that the farm will be open.

If you would like to bring a group to visit the farm (kids, schools, adults, clubs, etc.), please contact Kali at tours@serenbefarms.com to get more information about what kind of programs we can offer.
