Serenbe Farms & The Cooking Collaborative is excited to announce our first children’s cooking class right here on our farm! Bring your little ones to experience the local harvest with instruction from Chef Dee of The Cooking Collaborative along with our farmers to lead a delicious, hands-on cooking class.
Saturday, June 8th
1:00 - 3:30pm
Ages 3 - 8 Years Old
We are thrilled to offer this class at our introductory rate of $65/child + a complimentary parents salad & beverage.
During this class, we will be making a farm-fresh salad with various in-season veggies topped with allergen-free ranch dressing. Little chefs will learn how to use child-safe lettuce knives to slice, chop, and mix farm-fresh veggies in an exciting & healthy recipe. Students will be exposed to different produce growing on the farm, harvesting produce, kitchen safety + cleaning guidelines, culinary tips and tricks, as well as basic nutrition.
Following the salad course, students will be introduced to fruits growing during the month of June in both Georgia & Florida to close out the class.
Class Structure:
Water-based fruit & veggie tattoos will kickstart the class along with a farm tour once all release forms are collected.
Following the tour, children will scrub scrub scrub to teach the importance of proper hand washing following with the washing of our harvested produce!
We’ll then travel to our paper-covered workstations where children can color on the tables!
We’ll begin the class by passing out a mystery fruit or veggie to start the conversation.
Once children warm up to one another, the class will commence with the help of volunteers & our cooking team!
Parents are encouraged to help guide their little ones while also enjoying a complimentary farm salad and flavored herb water!
Important Release Form Information:
There will be a few minutes of welcome time to settle in before starting on a farm tour during which we’ll be harvesting veggies, tasting, and smelling along the way! Prior, our team will pass out release forms.
All parents will be required to sign a release form for safety reasons and allergen precautions before the class. This is necessary for the safety and well-being of your child so that they can have a wonderful experience! All children taking the class will be required to have a legal guardian or parent on-site with them. If you would like to sign/view the release form prior to the class, please email info@thecookingcollaborative.com OR education@serenbefarms.com for a copy of the release.
We look forward to having you & your child in our farm-fresh cooking class & farm tour!
