Sydney Cannon-Luckett, aromatherapist currently living with her family in Serenbe, is hosting an engaging and informative workshop while conducting a live demonstration on how to make hydrosol (also known as floral water). Her method of plant distillation can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians who employed clay stills to extract aromatic oils from plants for perfumes and medicine. In addition to external applications, hydrosols were prescribed as daily tonics in many ancient herbal traditions. In traditional Chinese medicine, hydrosols are consumed with regularity and referred to as “medicinal water”. Modern science confirms that the human brain releases neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, while our bodies generate more disease-fighting cells, all from inhaling natural plant aromas!
The often lesser-known product in aromatherapy, hydrosols are proven to offer a wide application of healing abilities, are less expensive than their essential oil counterparts, and far more sustainable to produce.
Attendees will leave this workshop feeling empowered and inspired to add this holistic medium to their natural living practice. They’ll also get to take home a bottle of lemon balm hydrosol that was made during the session.
Come explore the world of hydrosols, and learn how they can be effortlessly incorporated into your life for health support and everyday enjoyment!
